@David: I don't think Cleveland's ready to give up on their season, yet, so any moves involving Sabathia will probably be right at the July 31 deadline. He's not having a very good year this year, anyway.

@JB: No kidding about Tex. Unless we're 10+ back at the deadline, we'll hold onto him and make a decent offer (that probably won't be big enough) to keep him long term. And Acosta... poor guy, it's all in his head right now.

First of all, I don't really know why we'd talk a whole lot about trading Tex. I know everyone sees it as nothing short of a certainty that he'll be gone but we're gonna free up a little money here at the end of the season and why couldn't we be in contention for his, albeit Boras-sized, contract? Maybe I'm being naively optimistic but...

" excruciating suckitude"- one of the best Chuck James descriptions I've ever read. Pretty soon, I hate to say it, but Acosta may be getting that adjective thrown his way if he keeps it up.

I really hope the Cubs make a decent run at Sabathia. They would only need him as a #3 which i think he's still got left in his tank. The question is would they have to give up too much for a guy they wouldn't want to sign to a long term deal. Time will tell.
