Hudson Triumphant

Atlanta 2, Cincinnati 0. It may have been Ken Griffey Jr. showing up that inspired the crowds to return to the Ted tonight, but it was definitely the Tim Hudson show. He did more than just answer any lingering questions that some of us may have had about his health. He pitched a 3 hit, complete game, shutout gem, striking out 10. Add this to the top of the rapidly growing list of phenomenal starting pitching performances we’ve seen from our lineup this year.

Hudson

Tonight’s game was exactly what we needed. We needed the real Tim Hudson to show up and be our stopper. We needed something to get excited about. We got exactly that.  Let’s hope this will start building some momentum for the team for the rest of the series.

All of our offense came off of a huge Brian McCann home run to right. There was no question about this one.

Griffey only managed a single tonight. We were playing him with the shift on in the infield, three guys on the right side, but he still managed to drill one between KJ and Yunel. Nothing came of it.

The Shift on for Griffey

Fittingly, the game ended with Griffey at the plate. Hudson got him to fly out to right.
