Hampton Pulled, Shaun Humbled, Braves Lose, Weather Sucked
We get to see the pitchers do their long tossing in right field a few minutes before the start of the game. Hampton came out, did his long tossing and went back into the bullpen. They even announced him as the starting pitcher. We’ll see what the prognosis is tomorrow.
Pittsburgh 4, Atlanta 3 (10 innings.) Could not have been a worse game. If the Hampton disaster was not enough, it was cold and wet all night, so of course we needed our second extra innings loss of the week. Some Guy threw 4 as the stopgap starter, even though he pitched last night and Monday night. Highlights:
- Some dude ran on to the field in 9th. Security chased him around for a bit before they finally caught him in left field.
- More lefty-righty fun: Bobby brought in Royce Ring for the lefty matchup with 1 out, 2 on in the 10th. He switched Chris Resop from pitcher to left field for one at bat. Ring struck out the batter, then Bobby pulled Ring and put Resop back in to give up the go ahead hit.
